Parenting calls upon the expertise of moms across the country to reality-test products and services to find those that truly make their lives easier. After Parenting’s team of editors and experts evaluates each item for overall safety, quality, effectiveness, and design, products are sent to mom-testers for evaluation with their own families, in their own homes. Only those that meet with the moms’ approval are granted the Mom-Tested! emblem, and featured in the pages of Parenting magazine.

Creative Child Magazine's Awards Program is unique in that all products submitted are reviewed by moms, music educators and early education professionals. Products are not reviewed by any one person. They are reviewed by many people-the very people who purchase them.
Each year, a 2-day event is held in Henderson, Nevada where over a hundred guest reviewers are invited to attend our organized review event at our local convention center. All products are divided into categories and displayed at various review stations. Guest reviewers are asked to sit and review each products at one station and then move to another station and so forth and so on. This allows for each product to be given multiple reviews.

Each year, the Tillywig Toy Awards Program delivers to consumers, retailers, and the media a list of the best new toys, games, and other children's products available in the United States.
In addition to the evaluation of children’s products, the Tillywig program also awards a small number of retail stores each year for their ongoing contributions to promoting high quality, innovative new products.
Product awards are given on the basis of group play tests, the primary purpose of which is evaluating the entertainment and/or educational value of the products submitted.
Retailer awards are given on the basis of information procured through online research as well as interviews with manufacturers, retailers, and consumers

The National Parenting Center's Seal of Approval program is an independent testing procedure conducted to judge a variety of products introduced and marketed to the parent/child consumer market.
The testing involves a multi-step process conducted over an eight week period. Staffed by volunteers, the testing facility of The National Parenting Center gives parents, children, and educators the opportunity to examine a variety of submitted products. The testers are encouraged to play with, build, read about, and judge by the reactions of the children, each product's quality.
Participants fill out questionnaires for each product they test. Evaluated are each product's level of desirability, sturdiness, interactive stimulation and other ingredients essential in the make-up of a quality product. Test results are based on both statistical averaging and comments received from the parent/testers.
The Seal of Approval program is designed to continue the efforts of The National Parenting Center, which was chartered in 1989 to help create better informed parents as they tackle the challenges of parenting in the new millennium.
